Global Focus

"But the Holy Spirit will come upon you and give you power. Then you will tell everyone about me in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and everywhere in the world." – Acts 1:8

This, the last command given by Jesus Christ before His ascension to Heaven, is the foundation for our Global Focus.  We do not exist to simply perpetuate our own existence.  Foothills Community Church exists to share the love of God with a hurting and needy world.  Consequently, we have a major focus on missions, both near and far, including the planting of new churches.

This focus on global missions leads us to send our people out to mission service, to pray for what God is doing worldwide, and to support global missions financially.  Currently, 12% of all gifts and donations to our church go directly to our Missions Ministry.  In addition, we hold an annual fundraising event related to the Rose Parade that is 100% dedicated to a special missions project.

“The church God blesses is the church that gets outside of itself!”

Our Missionaries and Missions we currently support:

  • Dan and Christine Eitzen (London, England) – After more than 15 years of ministry in North Africa, the Eitzens have relocated to England to assume the regional leadership for their Mission.  Dan and Christine are veteran missionaries who serve as leaders and models for missionaries on several continents.  Dan and Christine's focus is to take Christ to the Muslim world.  The Eitzens have three grown children.
  • Friends Indeed (Pasadena, California) - This ministry operates a food pantry, a women's center, and the Bad Weather Shelter.
  • Door of Hope (Pasadena, California) - Door of Hope's programs transition holeless families to having jobs and their own housing.
  • Union Station (Pasadena, California) – This is a ministry to the homeless in our community and we have "hands on" involvement in the Family Center.
  • Neighborhood Urban Family Center (Pasadena, California) – Their vision is to enhance the social, moral, and spiritual fabric of urban Pasadena through personal relationships and programs that emphasize education, moral development, strengthening the family, racial reconciliation and Christian faith.

Church Multiplication

Foothills Community Church desires to multiply itself through the planting of new churches.  We are currently looking for God’s direction in our next church plant.
